About the event

The world has changed. Sexuality being the creative driving force of our culture, must not be left behind in the co-creation of the new paradigm many are actively working on to elevate this world. Embrace your true self and join the growing community of Ethical Hedonists, that are reclaiming the natural way of seeking full self-expression through honoring the desires of the heart and mind, as long as they don’t infringe on anyone else rights. The idea that we have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness implies the ability to freely be ourselves and express our sexuality without guilt, shame, or insecurities that leave us unfulfilled. Repressing our sensual expression has lead to many distortions and perversions that then manifest in destructive consequences for our society (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/sex-dawn/201004/sexual-repression).

While you can’t dictate or legislate anyone’s morality, we can create a beautiful, conscious, and loving space for the realization of this communal vision.

Part I

Keeping with the mission of Hedoné, we will first rally around our collective intention and introduce the guides and offerings of the week’s journey. The introductory part of the Hedoné experience is for gathering and sharing rational and emotional knowledge. It includes intimate talks and discussions by experts on topics that aid those on the quest to free their hearts and souls from the inhibiting constructions of society; art exhibitions and performances; and workshops that present techniques and practices that support a loving (re)connection of the participants with a more harmonious, freer version of themselves – as well as with one another.

Part II

(From Monday 10th evening to Tuesday 11th night)

As part of the 5 day retreat - Garden of Eden, we bring the gathering to a culmination and celebration of the ethical hedonist experience at our Hedo-Gala, Heart of the Jungle.

The ambience of the celebration is inspired by the poem “De Rerum Natura”, an ode to ethical hedonism. During the second part of the retreat, we will step into a space of celebration with all the new insight, inspiration, and energy created over the first part.

ATTIRE

In this edition we want to honor the female genitalia as a sacred flower during our celebration, please choose fabrics in pale pink and nude tones and be creative at designing an outfit inspired by this topic.

Through creative celebration and performance, we will become the change we wish to see in the world.

We also love skin! Transparency and nudity are encouraged and celebrated. This dress code ensures the retreat remains enchanted and filled with light and natural beauty.

This symbolic style choice is a mass performance against Female Genital Mutilation under the motto “Don’t cut the Flower!”

Psychomagia is a form of therapy proposed by Alejandro Jodorowsky, who recommends the curing of blockages and traumas through artistic methods that speak directly to the unconscious. Hedoné is producing “DON'T CUT THE FLOWER”, a virtual reality movie based on ART THAT HEALS, a work that aims to change the perception of the female genitalia. The movie is planned to be projected as part of a guided experience in high risk areas such as Senegal and Gambia. If you are a videographer, animator or video editor with experience in 360 videography and you are willing to contribute to this project, please contact us, co-creation is more powerful!
