What we do
Hedoné collective aims to raise awareness about ethical hedonism and its principles and fight prejudices against pleasure on both individual and collective levels through various activities that enable people to explore various theories and techniques on attaining emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual pleasure. Most importantly, Hedoné aims to provide a safe space to practice hedonistic activities.
Hedoné activities include:
– Performances and happenings
– Art exhibitions
– Charitable events to raise funds for fighting against female genital mutilation
– Yearly Hedonistic Seminar
While Hedoné is based in Berlin, it has been organising events in Berlin, Garbicz and Debrznica (Poland) and Los Angeles in last years, and is planning events in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Berlin and Poland in 2018.
Hedoné @ Castello Festival 2017
Hedoné @ Garbicz Festival 2017
This year, Hedoné was an integral part of Garbicz Festival that took place on 2-5 August, 2017 in Garbicz village in Poland.
We hosted a Hedoné “corner”/art installation – a safe place to relax, get a massage, body painting or festive makeup. On 3rd of August,Hedoné parade happened, making festival even more festive. On a sunny Friday afternoon, Hedoné crew gathered at theHedoné corner and, all dressed in flowery outfits, marched together through several dance floors, bringing the ravers free, joyful and flamboyant spirit of our collective. The final destination of the procession was a polyamorous workshop facilitated by one of our members!
Hedonistic Seminar 2017
24-25 June 2017, a first Hedonistic Seminar took place, consisting of a theoretical part on a day one and a practical part on day two.
A theoretical part took place in Holzmarkt in Berlin. It was dedicated to explore various aspects of different forms of pleasure – from spiritual to sexual – from theory to practice. Conferences and workshops were the educational elements of the first day of the event; participants listened to talks on ethical hedonism and on female genital mutilation by Fatou Diatta (“Sister Fa”), a Senegalese rapper and anti-female genital mutilation activist, and were able to choose 3 workshops from a long list, including Tantra, various forms of meditation and massage, dance, whipping, reiki, costume making or orgy manual. Alongside, participants enjoyed art installations and exhibition, music performances, cacao ceremony and delicious vegan food.
A second day was dedicated to putting theory in practice and took place in Debrznica Palace in Poland, just two hours drive from Berlin. In this magical location surrounded by nature, we celebrated together the simple pleasures of life. The theme and ambience of the installation as well as strict dress-code was inspired by the poem “On the Nature of things” by Roman poet Lucretius, an ode to ethical hedonism, creating a mass performance, as a form to express and celebrate natural pleasures and to protest against female genital mutilation, supported by multitude of live acts and DJ performances.

KOSMOS Charity Party
29 April 2017, Hedoné invited guests to a cosmic journey for the third edition of the Hedobirthdayparty.
In this occasion we went back on time to the origins of Nature, to the moment of Creation, and to represent the energy that move us on.The Universe is based on vibrations and harmonics. When electrons get excited energy and light are released to the Space.
Vibrations and energy was shot into the Cosmos, playing with the elements of space and becoming a celestial body united in a joyful dance.
Living Painting of “Dē Rērum Natūra”
3 days long performance during the charity Exhibition “A Rose is a Rose” Berlin Art Week 2016 in Hospital Waldfriede.
Live Painting of De Rerum Natura was an artistic recreation of the epic poem “On the Nature of Things” by the Roman poet Lucretius, based on the philosophy of Epicureanism. The installation interpreted and loosely represented natural pleasures through an aesthetic, performative improvisation designed to engage and provoke senses of the observers.
On the weekend 16th to 18th of September in 2016, De Rerum Natura took place at the beneficiary art exhibition “A Rose is a Rose” at the Desert Flower Centre in the Waldfriede Hospital Berlin. This centre offers full treatment to the victims of genital mutilation, from reconstructive plastic surgery to psychological therapy. Curated by artist Dodi Reifenberg, “A Rose is a Rose” brought together 105 contemporary artists who agreed to donate at least 50 percent of their proceeds to the Desert Flower Center.
“Dē Rērum Natūra”
The hedonistic search for happiness continued the on spring of 2016 when DĒ RERŪM NATŪRA was hosted to appreciate natural pleasures and beauty in a communal way.The theme was influenced by the Roman poet and philosopher Lucretius and his poem DĒ RERŪM NATŪRA, which is founded in Epicurean philosophy. This time the invitation encouraged the participants to be an active part of the show by holding performances, installations and workshops that expressed the joy of living a simple life and sharing love. The engagement of the attendants and their contributions were an extraordinary aditition to the experience. In this cooperative, fun and loving environment live music, djs, video art, dancing, massage and games were savored for over 24hrs.
Charity Party “Bacchanal”
The first event of the Hedoné movement, Bacchanal, took place in April 2015 at the Rubò WG.
A triple birthday celebration was the motivation to bring together a selected group of friends to share happiness, gratitude and joy for life in a free and creative environment. The thematic was inspired by the Greco-Roman deity Bacchus, the god of the grape harvest, wine, fertility, theatre and ecstasy in ancient Greek and Roman mythology. The imaginary of the myth and the ambiance inspired the participants, who adorned themselves in sensuous togas and wine-like plants. The spontaneous intervention of multidisciplinary artists during the event contributed to make it an ecstatic and memorable experience. From this episode Hedoné was born.
